The Museum of the Arts of Catanzaro (MARCA) is certainly one of the places to visit in the capital.
Opened in March 2008, it is a multifunctional museum center where different artistic expressions coexist, ranging from ancient to contemporary art.
Three floors divided into three types of artistic paths.
In the new restored rooms, on the ground floor of the museum, the collections of pictorial and plastic art are permanently inserted into the heritage of the Province of Catanzaro, starting from a collection core already established between the late nineteenth century and the beginning of the Twentieth century with works by Antonello de Saliba, Battistello Caracciolo, Mattia Preti, Andrea Cefaly and Francesco Jerace.
The Museum also takes part in numerous initiatives for the enhancement of art, including the Intersezioni project, which is held in the Scolacium Archaeological Park and the International Sculpture Park, housed in the Mediterranean Biodiversity Park.
